ASD Equinaturaq Toscana, coherently with its choices, practices NATURAL HORSE MANAGEMENT. For our horses, both boarders and belonging to the School, we've created living conditions as close as possible to their natural dimensions: this is important for their physical and mental well-being and makes them more serene, balanced and available towards interacting with people.
All our boxes are open in the paddock, closed on three sides, comfortable, cosy, with a sand litter box, 4m x 8m to board horses in small herds or 4m x 4m for single horses. The boxes are in large paddocks (up to 100 mq) in an area bordered by trees, fresh and breezy in the summer. We have a stonework box for emergencies. The horses are fed on hay and great quality horse feed; boxes and paddocks are cleaned out daily; every box has a "fill up" trough, that allows the water to flow and not stagnate.
We prefer for the horses to live in small herds so that they can interact with each other, in absolute tranquility as they are not shod. The herds can mix in the wide arenas, where they play, gallop, eat fresh grass and learn to interact with their riders. There are five fenced areas of about 100m x 20/30m.
